Orbital Mechanics by Regulus36 Orbital Mechanics by Regulus36
In the early days of the Atean civil war, pilots with combat experience were hard to come by, so both sides began a crash course in pilot training. In addition to the physical training (you had to survive the intense G forces) these young recruits were given intensive VR sessions in the simulator modules. They honed their skills in these virtual battlefields, littered with blinking red carcasses of simulated ships destroyed in practice.

But the virtual world is no match for the real, and to give their pilots the training they needed to be lethal in the blackness of space, they had to get their hands dirty. So after thousands of time dilated hours in the VR modules, the rookie pilots were finally given the controls of an actual starship. The objective of this training mission was to use low yield plasma weapons on the target range on the moon. Things were going pretty well until someone accidentally nuked the target moon ;)

Full view is recommended :) Have a great weekend!

very nice composition and impact :) but i think those lightnings are bit exaggerated, also the ship is technically very weak ... you could perhaps render it more from behind so there would be only thrusters visible, it would also add a bit more depth into it :) anyway nice work ! :)

So in another place on another world the civil war rages on, and this is training flight school so to speak. To me this is to me the real genius of human error; I mean not practice on say rogue or brought in asteroid targets, now have the chance to destroy the moon, wonderful, climate is in a bad comings up. I like the oranges over the blues of the lat image, it is a nice contrast of colors to me. I also like that this planet has a ring system that you have made to look pretty good for an exosolar planet, I see change is already happening top the gas giant, it is great work again. :)

Exactly, this is flight training school, and after the pilots prove themselves good enough here, they will head out to the front lines where the real battle is raging. Thanks, I'm glad you like it! :)

it looks a bit too simple with only one texture on it
a bit more details would be nice ;)

Yeah the texture at this scale doesn't look that good and it got a little blurred in the postwork i think .... at closeup it looks excellent though :D
